  • This is a very informative (albeit long) video that includes short speeches from Eric Schmidt (Google CEO) and Martha Kanter (Under Secretary of the U.S. Dept of Education). The speeches are followed by a forum that includes Linda Darling-Hammond and Joe Klein.

  • This 2007 ad (mostly overseas) resulted in a 10% sales increase for the product. This was featured in a MarketPlace Money story about making an impact by increasing your 'cool factor.'

  • Interactive whiteboards are becoming very popular in K-12 schools. Unfortunately they are very expensive (~10,000). In this video, John Lee demonstrates how similar results can be achieved w/ free software, a Wii-mote and a projector.

  • I think this computer has tremendous potential for schools. At $299 it makes it much more feasible to have multiple machines in every classroom.

  • I just attended a session at the American Educational Research Association annual meeting that featured several educational journalists and bloggers. Given that they are some of the more visible distributors of educational news, I thought I would aggregate their sites in a post. They provided some useful insights regarding the dissemination of educational research. One of the more notable contributions was the fact that many think tanks and advocacy groups (i.e., groups with an axe to grind) are much more accessible and timely when it comes to disseminating information.
